COVID-19

Reopening

The Fludyers has reopened its doors from Saturday 4th July.  This includes the hotel, bar, restaurant and outside terrace.

We have of course had to make a number of changes as a result of the recent pandemic and have done so to ensure we can protect you, our customers, as well as our staff.  Some of these changes are to comply with regulations and many are not mandatory, but in our opinion, necessary.

We have always maintained high standards of cleanliness and this is of course even more important at this time.  You will see cleaning of toilets and other areas undertaken far more frequently and constant hand washing by staff.

You will see a number of hand sanitiser stations throughout the premises – in the entrance lobby, on each floor of the hotel, two on the terrace and outside all toilet facilities.  We would ask that customers wash or sanitise their hands on arrival and use hand sanitiser on entering and exiting the toilets (as well as washing your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds).

Hotel

We have made a number of changes to the rooms although these should not alter the quality and comfort of your stay with us.

Where guests stay for more than one night you have the option whether you would like to receive housekeeping service each day of your stay.  We have undertaken further training with all staff on the importance of social distancing and the additional cleaning requirements but nonetheless understand that some people may not wish to have the staff in their room during their stay.  Daily housekeeping will of course be available for everyone who wants it through the duration of their stay .

All crockery, cutlery, glasses and water bottles will be removed after each check out and replaced even if they have clearly not been used.

Due to the additional cleaning time required we have altered check in and check out times slightly.  Check in will now be from 4pm and check out is slightly earlier at 10:30am.  To make up for the earlier check out time we have extended breakfast until 11am so that you can check out and then have breakfast.   As always we will endeavor to accommodate requests for late check outs or early check ins if it is possible.

We have removed our information booklets and will instead email this to you along with your check in information in advance of your stay.  We will also be taking payment over the phone before arrival in order to achieve a contactless check in.

Bar and restaurant

We have of course had to make changes in the bar and restaurant too!

The most obvious change you will notice if you have visited us before is that we have reduced the number of tables in the bar and restaurant, as well as our outside terrace, in order to maintain social distancing.  All furniture has been carefully placed to achieve the social distancing requirements so we must insist that customers do not move the furniture.

We have made the change to single use paper menus which may not look as nice but has been done for your safety.  We have also switched to single use salt and pepper sachets rather than the more elegant grinders and these will be packed with napkins and cutlery in sealed bags to reassure you that we have taken every precaution we can think of to ensure the cleanliness of these items and to keep you safe.

All staff are now wearing face masks or visors (their choice of which!) and will be taking your order from a safe distance.  The current regulations dictate that we may operate with table service only so you will be served at your table even in the bar and the outside terrace where this was previously not the case.

Finally, in line with government guidance we will be taking a name and contact number for each party that visits.  These details will be stored securely for 21 days and then destroyed and will not be used for any purpose other than the track and trace service if required.
